New Single - Refugees of Love with DPAK
Excited to announce the release of my new single "Refugees of Love" co-produced with @theotherdeepak. DPAK and I have collaborated for many years on live shows and in the studio. You may recognize his violin from songs such as “The Opening,” “Waves” and “Starlight (Revised).” “Refugees of Love” was inspired by those who have traveled over the ocean to find a new life. We were writing about present world situations as well as our own ancestors. We are all refugees of love in one way or another. An Irish born mother, a Gaelic speaker, boarded a passenger ship to come to America, alone. DPAK’s parents have roots in India and now work with NASA. Sol Rising's parents have roots in Hong Kong and grandparents are from China. There’s been a mass exodus of families in war-torn areas trying to free themselves from strife, & violence to find a safe place to start over. It’s happening still world wide, in the Mediterranean, in the Pacific, in South America, in the Caribbean.These refugees are so brave to leave everything behind, to have a chance for a good life in peace.
